Well, most of you know my passion about writing. I already write about the Habs and I’ve been doing it for a long time. But my passion goes beyond hockey. And the way I’ve developed Cheering The Logo, it’s not me anymore. It is its own entity, where I write about the Canadiens, along with a few other writers also contributing. Here, it will be the old me.
I won’t be very consistent with blog posts. I wouldn’t want Sharon to kick me to the curb! But what you can expect is just my old self. Those who know me will define me as a crazy, life loving, anti-snowflakes, sometimes funny, sometimes intolerant, opinionated, over-the-hill redneck. A country living, hunter, fisherman who loves his wife (or common-law), his kids and his extended family. Someone whose tastes are as varied in types of music I listen to, to the kinds of foods that I like.
So you will see rants. You will see lots of humour posts. You will see some of my own experience. Heck, if you look deep enough, you might even find a bit of… wisdom! What can I say, it 55-plus years on this planet, I have learned a thing or two, even if I don’t always apply my own advices.
You know what I find? As you age, aside from your body coming up with new ways to make noises, your tolerance for stupidity fades away and you lose that filter you used to have. Because of it, I find myself relating more and more with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon in the movie “Grumpy Old Men”. Being a Grandpa, I realize that I’m becoming more and more a… Grumpa!
Some call me Jocelyn, Joce, Josh, JD, Honey, Dad, Grandpa, Asshole… I don’t care. I’m just me.
Basically, what you’ll find here is what really goes on under Grumpa’s hat. And that can sometimes scare the most open-minded people… myself included!
