Good Neighbour Etiquette

Whenever possible, don’t park in front of your neighbour’s house. Never, ever block their driveway.

Keep the music to yourself.

If you’re going to have a few people over and it could be loud, warn your neighbour in advance.

Don’t let your pets, as much as possible, to wander onto your neighbour’s property.

If your dog does its business on your neighbour’s lawn, pick it up. In fact, always pick it up no matter where in a public place.

Be friendly, but don’t be nosy.

Offer a helping hand whenever you can.

Maintain your yard. Mow the lawn, keep it free of clutter. It affects a neighbourhood.

Don’t let your dog bark. Investigate what its barking for, them stop it.

If you own a loud vehicle, lay off the gas pedal or throttle in your neighbourhood.

Try keeping your domestic fights within your own walls. Neighbours don’t want to hear to yell and scream at each other.

Do not blow leaves, grass clippings or shovel snow onto your neighbour’s property.

If you share a fence, maintain your side of it. This includes stain and fixing it.

Teach your children to keep off your neighbour’s property and be respectful.

When talking to your neighbour about an issue, be respectful and friendly in your approach.

The same, if your neighbour approaches you about an issue, try not to take it personally and remain respectful.
