Remembrance Day Reminder

They paid the price by making the ultimate sacrifice: leaving their loved ones to ensure that the world kept it’s freedom. Many never came back and of those who did, many were never the same after going through what they went through. These brave men and women fought for what we have today: our freedom.

On this November 11th, take some time to reflect and be grateful to those who truly fought for our freedom. They are our great-grandfathers, our fathers, uncles, brothers… and they went to hell and back for us. And those loved ones left behind during and after war, had their lives changed forever as well, living with the consequences of those sacrifices.

Remember that the reason why you can drive your truck to Ottawa while disrupting peace and causing costly damage to the City of Ottawa and affecting the distribution of goods, it’s because of those true heroes.

Remember that if you have the right to walk down to protest what you feel isn’t “fair” with your “poor me” attitude and sense of entitlement, it’s because of sacrifice made by those born well before you came into your own little world.

Remember that when you fly our Canadian flag upside down, you are not only disrespecting the country you live in, but you are dismissing and disrespecting the brave soldiers who, contrarily to you, proudly fought for that same flag.

You were NEVER fighting for my rights or the rights of others… but for yourself. These truckers and protesters were NEVER heroes, as you claimed. Nor are they today.

You are NOT and were NEVER fighting for freedom. Travel a bit. Read what’s going on around the world. Ask a Ukrainian about freedom. Ask an innocent Jew in Israël who is getting bombed. Ask those countless Russians who tried to protest the invasion of Ukraine only to get locked up… or worse. Ask those in North Korea and other dictatorship. No, what you’re living under is not dictatorship. It’s law and order.

Mostly, learn the difference between freedom and freedumb… as you’re not fighting for the first one.

True heroes fought for a much bigger picture, and paid a price that went beyond walking because you couldn’t go to places without a mask or a vaccine. True heroes paid the price for you to take your entitled butts to Ottawa to do what you claim is “heroic”. To you I have three words: Get over yourself!

I, for one, am making sure that today is dedicated to the true heroes. I, along with millions of other Canadians, am thinking of those soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice, and to their families who have suffered of their absence (or change) since then.

Today is a day to remember, to re-ground us, to take our eyes off our own belly-button, off our phone, off our little battles, to acknowledge and pay our respect to those who truly deserve it.

Lest We Forget…
