The Lawyer and the Janitor

In a bustling office building, a confident lawyer known for his sharp wit and quick thinking crossed paths with the building’s humble janitor. Amused by the thought of outsmarting the janitor, the lawyer proposed a bet. With a smirk, he said, “Hey, every time I ask you a question you can’t answer, you owe me $5. And if you ask me a question that I can’t answer, I’ll give you $5,000.

The janitor, unfazed and always up for a challenge, nodded and agreed to the terms.

The lawyer started with a seemingly simple question, “How many continents are there in the world?

The janitor scratched his head, clearly stumped. He shrugged and handed over $5 to the lawyer.

Now it was the janitor’s turn. He asked, “What animal stands with two legs but sleeps with three?

The lawyer was taken aback. He furrowed his brow and thought deeply. He searched his mind, flipped through his mental encyclopedia, but couldn’t find the answer. After a while, he sighed in defeat and handed over $5,000 to the janitor.

Curiosity getting the better of him, the lawyer asked, “Alright, I lost fair and square. But I have to know, what is the answer to your question?

Without missing a beat, the janitor pulled out $5, handed it to the lawyer, and walked away with a grin.

Moral of the Story: Intelligence and knowledge come in many forms. Never underestimate someone’s cleverness based on their job or appearance; true wisdom often lies in humility and creativity.
