Across Quebec, the maple trees stand tall,
Their strong limbs reach to greet the sky,
While summer breezes whisper softly by,
And leafy branches spread their shade for all.
With open hands, their leaves wave in the breeze,
They shelter us from summer’s burning sun,
A quiet place to rest when day is done,
And offer cool relief beneath the trees.
Then autumn comes with colours rich and bright,
With golden yellow, orange, and red,
A fiery crown above each woodland head,
A feast of beauty in the fading light.
When spring arrives, the sap begins to flow,
A gift passed down through many years of care,
Boiled down to syrup, sweet beyond compare,
A taste of home that makes our hearts aglow.
One maple leaf adorns our flag of red,
Its simple shape a symbol of our land,
A source of pride that helps us understand,
The strength and hope in all our hearts are bred.
So let the maple teach us as years go by,
To stand up strong when life brings wind and rain,
For after every fall, we rise again,
And find new beauty underneath the sky.
