The Horse And The Chicken

Those who know me will tell you that I like laughing and make people smile. Sometimes, it’s even at my own expense. But I strongly feel that putting a smile on someone’s face, someone who needs it, brings back more satisfaction to my heart than I can express. That’s why I goof around even in hard times. That’s why, on Grumpa’s Social Media Platforms, I often put a quick one-liner (Morning Grump). In that frame of mind, here’s a short story for you that will, hopefully, put a smile on your face.

A horse and a chicken are playing in a meadow. Suddenly, the horse falls into a mud hole and starts sinking. He tells the chicken to go get the farmer to help him out to safety.

The chicken runs to the farmer can’t find him. So he drives the farmer’s jacked-up truck with a loud muffler back to the hole and ties some rope around the bumper. He then throws the other end of the rope to his friend and drives forward, saving the horse from sinking.

A few days later the chicken and the horse are playing in the meadow again, and the chicken falls into the mud hole. The chicken tells the horse to go get some help from the farmer. The horse says, “I think I can get you out.” So he stretches over the width of the hole and says, “Grab on to my ‘thing’ and pull yourself up.” The chicken does this and is pulled to safety.

Moral of the story:

If you’re hung like a horse, you don’t need a jacked-up truck with a loud muffler to pick up chicks.
