My eyes may not see you the way that they did
My ears may not hear your every word
My voice may speak in words confused
My hands may forget how to be used
My legs may grow weary and tired and sore
My brain may work differently than it did before
My body may tire and I need more sleep
My emotions may change and at times I may weep
And though I may seem like I’m no longer me
This is the time that I need you to see
My heart’s not affected the same as my brain
I know that I love you, though I may forget your name
My world is so different to the way that I know
So just place hold my hand and don’t let go.
