A bit ashamed, I didn’t tell my wife about it.
So there I am, thinking I’m about to have a peaceful moment to address the itchiness and discomfort that come with hemorrhoids. I carefully close the bathroom door, drop my pants with determination, and reach for the trusty hemorrhoid cream. Little did I know that this solo mission would soon turn into a comedy of errors.
As I’m mid-application, my wife, oblivious to my bathroom endeavours, decides it’s the perfect time to chat. Without warning, she confidently pushes the door open. The door, having its own comedic agenda, decides to give me a love tap on the head. I’m caught off guard, and in my attempt to maintain some dignity, I lose my balance.
Next thing I know, I’m careening backward, desperately trying to avoid a collision with the bathroom floor. Unfortunately, my journey to avoid a painful fall leads me right into the vanity. Now, not only am I tangled in a precarious dance with gravity, but I’ve unintentionally turned the bathroom into my personal circus.
As I brace myself against the vanity, I realize the absurdity of the situation. There I am, pants around my ankles, hemorrhoid cream in hand, caught in a compromising position with the bathroom door still slightly ajar. In the midst of this chaos, I can’t help but wonder if my bathroom escapade has unintentionally turned into a slapstick comedy scene.
To add a final twist to this tale of bathroom misadventures, in the midst of the chaos, my slightly concerned wife innocently asks, “Are you okay in there?” Little does she know, I’m not just applying cream – I’ve accidentally stumbled into a self-administered prostate exam.
Moral of the story:
Sometimes, in the quest for relief, life has a way of reminding us that humour can be found in the most unexpected places, even in the pursuit of treating hemorrhoids.
