They say the spark fades with time. That after years together, passion simmers down to routine, and routine to silence. But for these two, well into the comfort of familiar love, that wasn’t exactly the problem.
“Would you like some bacon and eggs? Maybe a slice of toast? Grapefruit juice? Coffee?”, she asked while laying in bed.
“Thanks, sweetheart, but I’m not hungry,” he replied. “Must be the Viagra. Really takes the edge off my appetite.“
She nodded slowly. Said nothing.
A few hours later, she tried again.
“How about a grilled cheese? Maybe a bowl of soup? I made muffins.“
He smiled.
“Still no appetite. That Viagra’s really messing with my hunger.”
She let out a soft sigh. Still said nothing.
By evening, her voice was hopeful but tired.
“Steak? Rotisserie chicken? Stir fry? I could even bake an apple pie for you.”
He kissed her hand.
“No thanks. Honestly, the Viagra’s just killed my appetite today.”
She paused. Looked him in the eye…
“Would you mind getting off me for a minute? I’m bloody starving.”
